The Band Toto Asia

Toto expanded its production facilities overseas, and was doing business in France and Germany, Indonesia, Korea and Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. Toto considered North America as a growth market for Washlet bidet seats and toilets, in contrast to its "base" markets of Japan and China.

Dhaniram Toto recorded Toto words to ensure that the future generation could understand the words. Many words were replaced by foreign ones. For instance dui, which was Bengali for verandah, was being used.

Origins

Incorporated in 1917, Toto's beginnings mirrored Japan's growth. In the beginning of its existence, the company made products to meet the demands of modern and contemporary urban housing. It was the first tunnel kiln in the nation that could produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered the use of automation to control production, allowing for greater efficiency and consistency.

The company began expanding overseas in the late 1980s to take advantage of new markets and sales opportunities. It established the Cera Trading Company, importing and selling other products from other manufacturers to complement its own range of plumbing fittings and sanitary earthenware.  토토사이트 꽁머니  helped to increase sales and expand the company's market share in the world.

In the late 1990s, Toto had shifted its focus on research and development of household appliances that use water. It also upgraded its distribution system to better serve the needs of its customers and to increase profits. The company also employed the just-in-time approach to its supply chain management as well as sales program. This resulted in a greater level customer satisfaction.

They also played on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

You might expect a band with a name like Asia to be a prog rock group however, it's actually a fairly straight forward rock outfit. The band began as four-piece, and released two albums that were self-titled in 1979 and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. Although the band have a diverse musical background their biggest breakthrough was achieved in 1982 with Toto IV.

The album was a massive blockbuster, but it was not without its problems. Record companies placed the band on the place with the directive "give us an album that's a smash or we'll take you off the market" and the pressure was on them to give it. Luckily for Toto, they did with the assistance of the smash single "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery is the result of their previous experience. Before forming the group, the band members were session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their distinctive sound has become the standard for '80s music, influencing many contemporary artists.

The album opens with a strong and pounding sound with songs like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write fantastic AOR songs that slowly work their hooks into your mind. The album also includes some slow, jazzier tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations. This song is a mix of folk and the distorted AOR which could sound completely wrong but actually is very effective.

After Toto IV The band's fortunes took a turn towards the negative. David Hungate left the band to pursue a solo career, and the band had a variety of drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the band in the after he was charged with drug abuse. the band continued as a trio featuring Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.

Despite the chaos, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation however, which was not as successful as IV. The band was able to release an album that was chart-topping, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked the conclusion of the original Toto lineup and was also the first album to feature the new singer, Simon Phillips.

Line-up

The album's third, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet format of previous albums. It was a stronger, more consistent effort that had an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the development of the group. Drummer Bobby Kimball's increased virtuosity was reflected by the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's work was sharper, more intricate and less cloying than on previous efforts.

After touring to promote their album, the group recorded the band's Amsterdam live concert that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set titled Falling In Between. A new studio album was released just a few months later and the group went on an extensive world tour in support of it. In this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.

In 1998, Paich and Lukather started exploring old demos and tapes in search of a new album featuring songs that had never been recorded before. It was completed in 2001 as a duo album called Then and Now. It was the first album by the band not to feature one single track with the word "A" in its title. It also included one previously not released track, "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial flop and vocalist Williams suffered from a bad case of laryngitis which limited his singing capabilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming duties were replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.

Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the founding members of Asia, met in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be reformed. This lineup, with the exception of Howe (who was working with Yes at the time) was eventually referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also had an appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
